What does a Head Spa Ritual entail?

Every Head Spa Ritual begins with our calming herbal tea ceremony, personalized aromatherapy, and an in-depth scalp analysis. Using advanced microscopic technology, the scalp analysis offers a detailed understanding of your scalps health before and after treatment. Our head spa experience encompasses a comprehensive array of services, including deep scalp massage, shoulder, arm and hand massage, herbal oil treatments, cleansing hair & Scalp masks, scalp exfoliation, steam therapy, halo therapy, Ayurvedic hair rinses, and invigorating shampoo and conditioning treatments. These specialized services effectively cleanse the scalp of impurities such as dirt, oils, product build-up, and aged skin cells, while also stimulating blood flow to hair follicles to promote hair growth. We take the time to educate you on a tailored scalp care routine to help you maintain lasting results at home. 

What Head Spa Ritual is right for me?

This is a common question. We recommend starting with the Purify Head Spa Ritual. This will gently detox the scalp of excess sebum, aged skin, and product build-up while also creating a healthy and rejuvenated canvas. Although 60 minutes is the perfect way to experience a head spa, 90 minutes is preferred for optimal results. 

Will the Head Spa Ritual affect my color?

All of our ingredients are safe for any treated hair. However, if you had recently done any kind of chemical services within a week prior to your head spa appointment, there is a chance that the color or keratin may lift during our detoxing process. We suggest guests wait at least 7 days after any sort of hair treatment prior to getting a head spa service. 

Can textured hair be treated?

We are experienced with all types of hair from thin & fragile, thick & coarse, wavy, curly, porous, to even bald! However, the hair itself is actually not so much of a concern as we will be primarily focusing on the scalp during the service. Due to our service requiring proper access to the scalp we cannot perform services on customers with extensions, braids, or sew-ins.

Is it safe for expecting mothers?

Please let us know if you are expecting! Some guests may be concerned about being exposed to certain herbs and oils such as lavender while they are expecting. Also, guests are to lie flat on their backs during the service, so if you are unable to do this we suggest that you wait to book your appointment until after your delivery. We recommend consulting with your doctor before your appointment to ensure it aligns with your specific pregnancy needs.

Are blowouts included?

A blowout is not included. Here at Black Swan Holistic Head Spa, we advocate for air drying hair as a part of our commitment to promoting holistic wellness and natural beauty. By opting for air drying over blow drying we minimize heat damage and help maintain the hairs essential moisture and shine. At Black Swan, we prioritize the health and vitality of your hair and hope that you embrace the holistic approach. A blowout can be requested as a separate service if desired. A blowout is subject to availability and is dependent on our schedules.

How do I prepare for my service?

To prepare for your appointment, we recommend wearing comfortable clothing. For your comfort, we also suggest removing earrings and necklaces, and detangling your hair as much as possible before your session. While we do detangle your hair before the treatment, excessively tangled hair may deduct time from your head spa session.

Do you offer Gift Cards?

Yes, and we think that gifting self-care is a good thing! You can purchase an e-card on our website. This is printable. You may also purchase a packaged gift card in person, by appointment only. To do so, please contact us at 317-332-3532 to arrange purchase and pick up. 

Are you a Walk- In Head Spa?

No. We are by appointment only. To make your appointment book through Vagaro. Appointment confirmations will be sent via text message and email after booking your service, or can be seen under the appointments page on your Vagaro profile. 

If you do not see the email confirmation in your inbox, please check your junk mail folder. Without this confirmation - your appointment time is not confirmed. 

Do you offer services for Couple's?

Currently we do not offer services for couples or best friends. However, we are currently working to expand and hope to offer this soon. Stay tuned!
